There is no JV race associated with the section meet. High school JV skiers will be invited to attend for support. While we value the support of our Middle School JV skiers, we will not have them attend so they don't miss a day of school.

*The Freeds will be hosting the skiers for lunch, as they live quite close to the venue. Please look for a permission slip. We will need this slip returned on Monday. Please also send along a water bottle and other nutritious snacks.

The weather forecast for next Tuesday is 19 degrees F. Keep an eye on the weather to make sure skiers have ample warm clothing. A change of clothing is helpful, as skiers can sweat during their first race. The resulting moisture can cool skiers when they are less active.

Driving Directions to Valleywood Golf Course From 494 and Cedar Avenue
Take MN-77 (Cedar Avenue) south for approximately 5 ¼ miles
Take the County Road 38 Exit toward the Zoo, keep left at the fork in the ramp
At the top of the ramp, merge onto McAndrews Road (east)

Jan. 29th JV Conference & First Year Skier Championship Skate Race

The Classic Suburban Conference JV Nordic Ski championships will be held at Mahtomedi High school on Thursday, January 29th @ 3:15 p.m. There will be two races. One will be for JV skiers. The other will be for skiers in their first year. It's a great chance for kids to ski against others with similar experience.

**This is for JV skiers only** The varsity skiers will be competing on 1-27.

Mahtomedi is located NE of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The street address is: 8000 75th St. North, Mahtomedi, MN 55115. If you click on the map it will get a bit larger.


The ski course starts just north of the tennis courts. At least it did last year. Here is a link showing where the race will start.

North High School is hosting this meet with for Simley, Tartan,
Agriculture/Food Services Academy. The start time is 4PM.



**Vehicle Permits are required for all vehicles entering the park, and can be purchased at the park office. If the park office is not open, permits can be purchased by depositing the permit fee into the envelope and payment box located just past the park office building. Please follow the instructions on the envelope.

Simley Nordic Brainathlon

The Vicious Muffins beat the the Moldy Bagels 10 to 8 in the First Annual Simley Brainathlon. Winning team members include Zach, Shayla, Ellie, Tom, Matt, and Veronica. These athletes demonstrated their fitness and knowledge.

Simley Classic Meet Jan. 15th At Sibley

We are hosting our classic meet this Thursday at Sibley. We will have a 3:45 start time. A boys' mass start will be followed closely by a girls mass start. The hill should thin kids out. If it is very cold we will cut the race to one lap per skier instead of two. AFSA, MSA, Sibley, Richfield and Simley will be competing.

The weather looks like it will be quite cold. Please check this page in case of cancellation. We will cancel the meet if the air temp. is -4F or colder, or if the wind chill is -15F or colder. Please help your skier dress for the weather. A face covering, multiple layers and quality gloves/mittens are a must.

The school is located at 1897 Delaware Ave, Saint Paul, MN. (Click on the address for a map.) The course is on the south side of the school facing 110.

Jan. 8th Classic Race Meet Hosted by MSA and AFSA

The start time for the race is 3:45. Boys will race first with the girls' race following shortly after the boys are out.

Note: There is a small cost to enter the park, ($5 per vehicle) that they use to help cover the cost of keeping the park and trails in nice shape.

Jan. 6th Conference Relays @ Henry Sibley

Henry Sibley will host our conference relays again this year. The school is located at 1897 Delaware Ave, Saint Paul, MN. (Click on the address for a map.) The course is on the south side of the school facing 110. The meet will start at 3:30 pm. Each school will create teams of 4 skiers. Girls teams will go first with boys to follow.
